Written Evidence to PASC Inquiry on Statistics and Open Data

I’ve submitted someĀ written evidence to the inquiry on Statistics and Open Data being run by UK Parliament’s Public Administration Select Committee (PASC).

I’m linking a copy here mainly to tweak the nose of the Committee. According to their guidance on submitting evidence:

Once submitted, your submission becomes the property of the Committee and no public use should be made of it unless you have first obtained permission from the Clerk of the Committee.

Presumably that’s their usual bumpf for all inquiries, but it does rather suggest the Committee hasn’t quite grasped the underlying ethos of open data …
